Tustin Dollars for Scholars ~ 1957- Present

In 1957, a group of women came together to support the newly formed Tustin Chamber of Commerce. This group evolved into the Women's Division of the Tustin Chamber of Commerce and later into the Tustin Women In Chamber of Commerce (TWCC), a local chaper of the State organization. In 2001, TWCC affiliated with the national organization, Dollars for Scholars. In 2008, the name was changed to Tustin Dollars for Scholars and TDFS opened its membership to men.

What has never changed throughout this history, is the focus on the financial needs of our TUSD students as they pursue a college degree. Since this grassroots scholarship program was initiated in 1987, over $425,000 has been awarded in scholarship dollars. Of the 87 local high school graduates who have received scholarships, more than 95% have completed post secondary degrees. TDFS lets our local students know that their community believes in them.
